Megan & Derek | Rocking H Ranch Engagement | Orlando Wedding Photographer

Happy Friday All! I am so excited to share this exciting engagement session of Megan & Derek at the lovely Rocking H Ranch. I had such a blast with these two. Megan and Derek happened to go to the same high school. His mom was a teacher there so everyone knew who Derek was, but they never talked, never had a class together, and didn’t have any mutual friends. I love reading Megan’s story about how they first met. In Megan’s words “Fast forward to October 2011. I was at a doctors appointment in Longwood. As I left my appointment, I had a minor fender bender. Now, this was the day that Pres. Obama was driving through central Florida, so all of the traffic units for LPD were escorting him down I-4. The patrol units were scattered about the city, some on calls already. The officer assigned to my zone was on the toilet, so Derek was literally the last officer who should have come to my crash. But there he was. And boy did he look good in a uniform. 😉 Because he was a complete professional, he gave me a LPD business card and told me to call him if I had any questions. I immediately went home and tried to find him on Facebook, to no avail. The next morning, I had a ‘friend request’ from him. We spent a few weeks emailing, and the rest is history.”

Megan said had always wanted to see the sun rise and set in the same day, on the beach. So Derek woke her up at one morning at 4:30am and drove her to New Smyrna Beach where they watched the sunrise. Afterwards, they went to Busch Gardens to ride some roller coasters and then drove to Clearwater and checked in to the most amazing resort she had ever been in. After a nice relaxing afternoon, they had dinner at the resort’s restaurant on the beach. After dinner they walked on the beach, and as the sun was setting, Derek got down in the sand on one knee and asked her to marry him. 🙂 I am So excited for these and cannot wait for their wedding. Megan wanted a romantic rustic wedding underneath a big oak tree and after arriving Wednesday for my first time to Rocking H Ranch, I personally couldn’t imagine these two getting married anywhere else. Is it December yet!?!
