Brooke and Chris. What can I say about these two? Lots. Their classic outdoor wedding at the Peachtree House was absolutely stunning. But before I get into the details I have to tell you about them first.
I certainly will never forget these two. They lived in Louisiana when we had our Skype consultation. They were both recovering from a cold and Skype’d with me in their jammies from there bed. I have a confession to make. I was wearing my jammie pants and slippers but had on a nice shirt and made sure I did my hair and makeup. LOL!
From the moment we chatted we immediately hit is off because we had something in common- FOOD!!! Brooke is a Pastry Chef and Chris is a Sous Chef AND I love to eat. Ok seriously a Pastry Chef and a Sous Chef. Are they not a perfect pair?!?! So back to food. We all know I am huge burger fan and burger snob. Well so are they. We talked about burgers as well as the best places to go get a burger. Later after about an hour of chatting we then decided we should probably talk wedding talk. It was a no brainer we all were a perfect fit. I adore these two.
Fast forward a few months. Chris and Brooke moved to Washington DC area for work. They loaded up their car and headed to the NE. After getting settled in they made the trek back down to Florida for their engagement session. All I have to say is I LOVED their outfit. I will have to reload their blog post. For some silly reason it is missing, so look out for their engagement to re-hit the blog over the next few weeks.
Another year later the time finally came. Their wedding was fast approaching, but he northeast was getting hit with storms left and right. Brooke was playing with their dogs at the doggie park after being cooped up for a few days due to weather. All of the sudden her afternoon out getting a little fresh cold air took her to a visit to the ER. Another dog got into a little tiff with her dog and she slipped on ice and broke her foot. She was going to be in a boot for the wedding. A boot on her wedding day. No bride wants that. We made light of the situation and joked about adding bling to her boot to make it photo worthy.
I have to say when I saw them upon their arrival, which by the way first stop was yummy burgers at Beth’s Burger Bar in Orlando, FL. Gotta check it out and oh the Peanut Butter Burger is the jam. I know sounds gross but it will change your life. Back to the boot. You would have never known because she was walking like a pro. She even managed to make light of it and wore the cutest Kate Spade Rose Gold Sparkly Keds. Which happens to match her pink engagement ring and all the pink she incorporated into her wedding. Brooke told me she didn’t realize how much she loved pink until she started planning their wedding.
The whole day was absolutely beautiful. From the gorgeous architecture of The Peachtree House to their romantic lakeside ceremony underneath the sprawling oak. Their Fur-babies Laela were part of the Junior Bridesmaids and Roux was their Junior Groomsmen. I adore the flower girls and junior bridesmaids dresses especially twirling out front of the house. The weather graced us with about 7 minutes of sprinkles but quickly cleared up for a fun night under stars on the front lawn. One of my favorite moments was their Second Line. Chris and Brooke made their own umbrellas, too. They are so crafty. Oh did I mention that Brooke also made her own wedding cake and desserts? They were delicious of course.
We truly enjoyed spending the day with these two and their family and friends. It was an absolutely beautiful classic outdoor wedding. Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. DeJesus.
