I have such a great story about  Joe and Austin Orlando Engagement Session. They met in high school, Austin admits she was a little bit of a stalker! She would pack up her backpack really slow with the hope of running into Joe in the hallway. But they finally met at the homecoming dance. After getting her hair and nails done, she slipped into her new dress hoping Joe would be there, and he was. Austin’s three best friends walked right up to Joe and said, “Hey, we have a friend that would really like to meet you, her name is Austin.” To this day they still joke about it because his answer was, “Isn’t Austin a guy?”

They walked around the whole night talking and getting to know each other. One of the many things they agreed upon was that education and family come first. He knew from that day that Austin was going to be a dentist, and nothing was going to get in her way! The orange dress Austin is wearing in a few of the images is the dress that she wore to the homecoming dance.

Joe and Austin spent their college years in two separate cities but they visited each other often. During that time they were able to visit Joe’s hometown in Sweden three times. While in Sweden, Joe took Austin to visit Femörefortet, which is a fort and nature walk museum in his hometown. After waiting in the car for the rain to stop they climbed to the top of the fort. As they set up cameras to take a picture Joe got down on one knee and proposed.

Austin’s favorite flowers are sunflowers, and when she found out about the Lake Jesup sunflower field she contacted me. We started talking and planning a shoot about a year in advance of when the flowers would bloom. In October, right after Sawyer was born, I drove out to check the flowers every couple days and finally they were ready!

Austin and Joe plan to get married in 2018, after she finishes dental school. They have talked about having their wedding in North Carolina, as well as in Sweden at Joe’s hometown church in Nyköping. Only time will tell for this amazing couple!
