I cannot wait to tell you guys all about Lauren and Jake’s Downtown Orlando Wedding. All they wanted was a fun and relaxing day with a whole bunch of photos and boy did we deliver! We had so much fun running around all day. With 7 different locations and events happening throughout the day, our team pulled it off flawlessly. Laure and Jake truly had one amazing and unforgettable day!
Starting off, our lovely couple had a unique beginning to their relationship. It was back in 2014 when they went mini golfing at Pirate’s Cove near Disney. He was a bit reserved, so Lauren was a little surprised that he asked for a second date. She agreed and they went to the Magic Kingdom. In usual Florida fashion, it poured, but they managed to have a great time anyway.
Lauren couldn’t tell if he was interested, but they continued to hang out as friends, that is until a year later. Her and her sister were moving into her new apartment, so naturally Jake offered to help. Lauren had little change of heart after seeing him in action- carrying boxes and furniture up four flights of stairs like they were nothing, smack dab in the middle of a Florida summer. They started dating a month later and went mini golfing once again at Pirate’s Cove for their second first date.
The proposal is such a dreamy story. Traditionally, instead of giving each other Christmas gifts, they plan a trip together. How cool is that? It was on their 15-month anniversary that they traveled to Charleston, South Carolina. They had a plan to spend their first evening with a stop at Hampton Park and then dinner at Hall’s Chophouse. Lauren’s sister and mom spent a lot of time trying to convince her to dress up for dinner, because she usually doesn’t wear a dress. She gave in and looking back she was so happy they convinced her to do it.
Lauren noticed Jake was getting a bit nervous as they were getting ready for dinner, but thought nothing of it. They went to the park and sat down on a bench where Jake asked Lauren to take some selfies. Lauren then wanted someone to take their photo. As she was about to ask a guy standing nearby, who also just so happened to be the one Jake arranged to take photos of the proposal, Jake stopped her. Lauren knew a serious conversation was about to happen and that’s when Jake got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said “a million times yes!” and now they’re saying “I do.”
They had so many parts of their wedding to fall in love with. Their gift exchanges were meaningful and the little details were so special, like how they carried around pennies Lauren’s mom found with their birth years on them. They had a romantic first look and the expression on Jake’s face was priceless. They even read their vows to each other at there and it had us all misty-eyed.
Their wedding day was a whirlwind of activity, but we had a blast every single second of it. The ceremony took place at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Downtown Winter Park. Park Ave in Winter Park has that old town vibe, but is alive with things to do and places to visit. Definitely an area to check out. After the ceremony we went to an abandoned railroad for their portraits and wedding party photos. It’s a great little spot because the cement factory that uses the tracks during their business hours is only open on the weekdays. Lucky for us, it was a weekend wedding!
Then it was on to the reception and let me tell you, it was gorgeous. It was a mix of industrial and rustic. Metal and wood details dominated the space giving it a laidback feel, which was exactly what they were going for. They had these awesome copper mugs for their seating assignments and so guests could use them to enjoy their signature drinks, which were two types of Moscow Mules. Their cake was so cute and fit their personalities so well. I could go on and on about this day, but I’ll let the photos do the talking from here.
