Welcome to 2019! We cannot wait to see of the amazing weddings we have coming up. Before we get into the this year, we are taking a look back at this Golden Holiday Wedding at Up the Creek Farms from last November. Meeting our couple Carolyn and Nick was a unique experience for me, because I did not meet them until their wedding day. It was a little scary, but the second I met Carolyn I adored her sweet personality instantly. I met Nick at the ceremony and found out that he is so hilarious. Even though meeting these two was a bit out of the norm for me, it only took a few seconds to totally connect with them.

From coworkers to husband and wife

Our sweet couple met while working together at the Olive Garden. When the time was right Nick knew the perfect way to ask Carolyn to spend forever with him. They went to their favorite spot on the beach and as she was looking out at the ocean under the moon and the stars, Nick knelt down and asked her to marry him. They are so perfect for each other and you definitely see that in their mutual love for things like animals, videogames, and Harry Potter. You will even see a nod to their favorite movie throughout their wedding, especially their cake.

Treasured memories for their wedding day

Carolyn is a stunning bride and looked absolutely breathtaking in her wedding dress. However, it was a gift from the grooms mother that finished off her look beautifully. It was a gorgeous diamond necklace and she looked magnificent wearing it. Nick was also wearing a watch from his grandfather. They were very close, so it was very special for him to wear it on his wedding day.

No raining on this parade

As it is to be expected with Florida weather, right before the ceremony the skies opened up for a steady drizzle. Carolyn took it in stride and gave the go ahead to start. The amazing thing is the rain did not dampen anyone’s spirits. They just handed out umbrellas and went on with the wedding. They were married by Carolyn’s aunt and there was no shortage of jokes and laughs during their ceremony. LOTS of laughs!

I mentioned earlier that I met Nick at the ceremony. I will never forget what he said as he spotted his lovely bride in the distance. He said, “oh my god WOW” and giggled like a little boy and said “wow” again. It was such a sweet moment and one I will always remember from their special day.

First the reception and then happily ever after

I loved the décor for their golden holiday wedding reception. It was done in deep reds, hints of pink, and golden highlights. Also, if you are a Harry Potter fan, you will notice the significance of their cake topper. One thing I LOVE is how they did their guest book. Guests signed gold ornaments with special messages and that is what the newlyweds used to decorate their Christmas tree.

We are so lucky to have this golden holiday wedding to kick off another amazing year. We have a lot more in store for you all, but for now we give you these special moments from Carolyn and Nick’s wedding day.
