We have been waiting so long for Heather and Jonathan’s wedding in beautiful Savannah, Georgia! We have gone from their Sweet Historic Engagement Session to their Sweet Historic Savannah Wedding. If you have not had the chance to check out their engagement session, you should definitely see it here.
These two have such a deep connection which started back when they worked together. Heather had been hired while Jonathan was on a trip and when he came back they formed a quick connection. Things took a turn when one night they were robbed at gunpoint while working together. Jonathan stood between her and the gun and that pivotal moment brought them closer together.
Now they are so in love and get to spend the rest of their lives making happy memories! They love to do things like going on spontaneous trips, hitting up happy hour and grabbing some Jeremiah’s at the end of the night. Heather is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! Both her and Jonathan are so caring and just fun to be around. Jonathan even describes himself as Legen-(wait for it)-dary! You can see why we had so much fun getting to know these two.
Georgia on my mind
I love traveling and I especially love traveling to Savannah! I love everything about it. The architecture is breathtaking and you are surrounded by history. There is nothing that makes this southern gal happier than being in one of the most beautiful southern cities. That is why we were so thrilled that we were going to be there for Heather and Jonathan’s beautiful wedding day.
First look at Forsyth Park
If you go anywhere in Savannah I suggest you stop at Forsyth Park. I am in love with the old oak trees and it was the perfect location for their first look. To begin, Heather is beautiful and on her wedding day she was a vision in her Calla Blanche dress. It was the perfect dress for their wedding. You could see in Jonathan’s expression that he was head over heels for Heather. With the fountain and beautiful grounds as the backdrop, we took some amazing portraits of these two.
A service station to a romantic wedding venue
Heather and Jonathan chose Soho South Cafe as the location for their sweet historic Savannah wedding. In the heart of downtown Savannah, Soho South Cafe started out as a service station back in 1945 and was vacant until it was transformed into a restaurant. I loved their guest chairs! I know that is not a common detail to highlight, but they were so cute! The clock that hung high in the air was eye-catching and it was one of the many things I found captivating.
After the ceremony the space was transformed into a gorgeous reception room. In the spot where they had earlier said their vows sat their lovely sweetheart table. Guests sat at beautifully decorated long tables surrounding the dance floor where they partied the night away. Heather and Jonathan left their wedding under a the glow of sparklers held by friends and family.
As I said earlier, we have been so excited for Heather and Jonathan’s wedding and it was definitely worth the wait. We were so honored to be a part of their special day and now we have the pleasure of sharing some of their amazing images from their sweet historic Savannah wedding.
