Downtown Orlando Engagement Session Lindsey and Matt

Wow it is almost time for the holiday season! I cannot believe how fast this year is going. For us, this fall has been nonstop with so many good things and the best part is that it is not over yet! We still have more weddings, engagements and beautiful love stories to share with you! This week we are featuring Lindsey and Matt’s amazing Downtown Orlando Engagement Session.

I absolutely love this couple, because they are so adventurous and up for anything. Another reason we are putting the spotlight on these two is because their wedding is coming up next week!! We could not contain our excitement for the coming celebration, so we decided to share this post on their engagement session in Downtown Orlando.

A Downtown Orlando landmark

Our first stop was a famous Downtown Orlando landmark, Lake Eola. It is like a piece of paradise in the middle of downtown. The lake is almost a mile around, so we definitely got our steps in, but oh the photos were worth each one of them.

Although it attracts a lot of tourists and locals, it is still a peaceful lake where you can people watch, take a stroll, and enjoy being out in nature. A most beloved part of Lake Eola are the gorgeous swans that swim and walk amongst the Lake’s many visitors. Head out there if you have not had the chance!

Take flight to love

We have a lot of shots of these two lovebirds walking around and enjoying the beautiful weather. If you have ever been to the lake you cannot miss their beautiful art sculptures. Lindsey and Matt had some beautiful shots next to one of my favorites, Take Flight.

A voluntary board formed a project called See Art Orlando. See Art Orlando is a collection of nine sculptures spread out along Lake Eola inspired by features of Orlando and expressing the diversity of the city. This particular sculpture was perfect for Lindsey and Matt’s session because, as we will explain next, it was a perfect representation of their ‘go for it’ personalities.

Like most days in Florida, the weather can turn in an instant, so of course it had to happen during their session. Thankfully these two were totally game for the crazy idea that we had which was to take photos in the rain. We found some trees which offered them a little cover so it was not a straight downpour. It was a sunset sun-shower, so the lighting was perfect. We had no idea how the photos would turn out, but when I took that first shot and looked at the preview, I was in love! The way the sunlight bounced off of the raindrops was art in itself. These shots instantly became some of our favorites of all time!

A Downtown Orlando favorite

After an outfit change we discovered some drier areas of Downtown Orlando. We stopped in at their favorite local bar where they spend Sunday afternoons enjoying drinks, cuddling and people watching. Being at a place where they spend so much time together was the perfect way to end their session.

We for one will not be able to forget this Downtown Orlando engagement session for a long time. Now we eagerly wait until next week when Lindsey and Matt say “I Do” at their gorgeous wedding at Hyatt Regency Grande Cypress!!
