Lake Louisa Engagement Session

Happy New Year!!! Welcome to 2020 everyone! We are looking forward to another amazing year just like the last one. 2019 had us being a part of so many beautiful love stories and we are looking forward to even more in 2020! So for this first post of the year we are featuring an amazing couple we met last year. Since our amazing couple, Nicole and Jeffrey, are our first 2020 wedding, it was only natural that we feature their Lake Louisa Engagement Session as our first post of the new year.

When we say the first wedding of 2020, we literally mean this weekend! We can think of no better way to spend our first 2020 weekend than celebrating this wonderful couple. Their wedding will take us to one of our favorite venues, Up the Creek Farms. We know their weddings are always memorable, so we are super lucky to be starting off at a place we absolutely love.

Adventures with happily ever afters

When we met Nicole and Jeffrey, we knew Lake Louisa State Park would work as the perfect place to capture the excitement of their engagement. We learned that they love to explore and try new things. For instance, when they have date nights they will try new restaurants and order everything because trying new things is one of the things they love to do together. Lake Louisa is definitely one of those places to wander and discover beautiful spots.

Speaking of adventures, it was on one such trip where Jeffrey popped the question. He took Nicole on their annual trip to The Keys and spent the whole day surprising her by doing things they had never done before, like sailboating. After a full day of trying new things, he took her the Key West Lighthouse for the setting of his romantic proposal and of course, Nicole excitedly said YES!

An engagement adventure for everyone- even the puppers

Coming to Lake Louisa is always exciting for us. We have spent plenty of time here for sessions and we never get tired of it. The scenery is amazing and every time we go there we always find new places to explore and capture gorgeous photos. Sunsets in the field are a must!

Along with picking a great location, we love that Nicole and Jeffrey brought their fur babies, Maverick and Bella. Pets always add entertainment and personalization to sessions- it is also an added bonus that we absolutely love them! We had a great time incorporating their gorgeous dogs into their engagement session. Starting off in a casual look was a great way to show off the family of four. Since they were running around and having fun with the dogs, this look was perfect for them.

We always encourage at least two outfits for engagement sessions. Therefore, after we spent half the session getting some great photos in their first outfits, they changed into a more dressed up look for their second. They were comfortable and just so in love. Their love for each other literally shines through their eyes and it was amazing to capture. As we reached the end of their session we finished with my favorite sunset shots in the field. Thankfully we were very lucky to take advantage of another phenomenal Florida sunset. Those are some of my favorite ones!

An engagement session tip- Nicole and Jeffrey brought along someone to watch their dogs for when they were not in the photos and to help grab their attention when they were in them. It really made it easier to get those amazing photos of our couple, while having someone to help have them at the ready if needed.

A wedding right around the corner
