We are so excited for our blog this week!! This Sweet Fort De Soto Engagement Session is a little extra special because Kimberly used to be my marketing assistant. She has since moved on to great opportunities, but she will always hold a special place in my heart. As you have probably guessed we traveled out to the west side of Florida for Kimberly and Nick’s beautiful engagement session. I seriously cannot get enough of their photos and you will see why we had a tough time narrowing down our favorites for this one.
A tune of their own
I have known Kimberly for years and was so excited when I found out she was engaged to Nick. They are absolutely perfect for each other! They met back in high school while in marching band. Kimberly and Nick became fast friends and would share headphones on bus rides. Those bonding times turned into the start of their happily ever after. I have heard you meet some of your best friends for life in marching band, so I guess what they say is true.
A sweet engagement day in more ways than one
Nick had the most perfect proposal planned out for Kimberly. He took her on a trip to New Orleans and popped the question right in Jackson Square. Both of their parents there to capture the special moment and of course, to celebrate.
He did not know at the time, but he actually proposed on her grandmother’s birthday. The stone for Kimberly’s ring belonged to her grandmother, so it made the proposal all the more special. Kimberly is totally in love with her ring and when you see the photos you will see what we mean.
Exploring Fort De Soto for the perfect engagement session
We love traveling all around Florida and really loved being in Fort De Soto. The day began at Kimberly and Nick’s home with their pets. We adored meeting their sweet pup Reba and their gorgeous cat, Bandit. Those two were such a hoot when it came to taking their photos! I think my favorite part of the day was capturing these special moments.
After leaving their home we traveled over to a place that has now been added to one of my favorite spaces, Room 901. It was a bar that was mostly book-themed. You will tell by their photos that these two love books, so this bar is perfect for them. I am in love with their open book wall feature. You cannot miss that! The old brickwork added the perfect touch to make the place feel cozy and inviting. We also got a lot of shots of Kimberly and Nick sharing a glass of their favorite bourbon, Blanton’s.
After we managed to pull ourselves away from that amazing bar, we headed over to the shore. After spending sometime exploring some of the surrounding scenery we made our way down to the beach. I love the sunset on the west coast! It was so amazing and the love between these two made everything perfect!
This day was such a dream come true. Having Kimberly in my life is truly a gift and I am so happy these two are tying the knot! Enjoy these photos from their sweet St. Pete engagement session and be on the lookout next year for their Luxmore Grande Estate wedding!
