We are recovering from a weekend of Super Bowl madness! Whether your team won or not, we hope you all had a great weekend none the less. We are starting off an amazing week here at the studio with another gorgeous wedding. We have been waiting anxiously for Katie and Alex’s Rustic Glamour Wedding for so long. They are the sweetest couple and had so many great details for their lovely wedding at Up the Creek Farms.
Two familiar faces
You may remember these two from their engagement session. We featured them in our blog post, Main Street Engagement Session. It seems like just yesterday we were having a blast on the streets of historic downtown Sanford. Alex was so cute when he asked if he could lift Katie, to which I replied, “Of course!” You have to check out their engagement session, because it is so neat to see how their love then and now. Especially when we got a repeat performance of the lift at their wedding!
Meeting you makes everything sweeter
You can read more about how Katie and Alex met and became engaged in their engagement feature, but we’ll give you a little background about how these two met.
They met in Savannah during Halloween. They did not know each other, but ended up dressing in the same costume- Woody from Toy Story. When Katie saw a guy dressed in the same costume, she ran up and started chatting with him. Her friend’s husband realized the mysterious Woody was his cousin, Alex. The two ended up hanging out the rest of the night and Alex met up with her and her friends for brunch the next day. Since then, they’ve been inseparable.
A wedding to remember
When their wedding day finally came, it was a beautiful Florida day in October. Katie found the perfect dress and she looked absolutely stunning in it. The strapless design and shape gave her a modern look, while the lace overlay and details captured the vintage feel flawlessly.
I always love ceremonies under the old oak trees at Up the Creek Farms. Katie and Alex kept their decorations simple and elegant. Katie was glowing as she walked down the aisle to Alex and he was completely captivated by her. Their ceremony was romantically sweet and witnessed by their closest family and friends. It was so lovely to be there!
After their ceremony we ventured off to the gorgeous grounds at Up The Creek Farms to take their portraits. Like I always say, there is no bad spot on their property for photos. We of course took amazing photos at the boathouse doors. It’s one of my favorite spots! Then we moved to their oak trees with hanging moss. Did I mention I love old oaks with hanging moss?
There are just so many places to take gorgeous photos and we got a lot of them with Katie and Alex! You can read more about Up the Creek Farms because we featured them as one of our top Central Florida wedding venues.
Partying the night away, Katie and Alex style
After we got a frillion portraits of the newlyweds, we moved on to their indoor reception. They did an amazing job of decorating their reception in colors of red, gold, and green. Such a classic color combination. Oh and their popcorn bar had me considering on setting one of those up in my house. They had two cakes, but I adored how one of them brought their love story full circle in the Toy Story cake topper.
We mentioned in their engagement blog that it was going to be a fun party when they got married and we were one hundred percent correct! They know how to have fun and it showed as they danced the night away with their guests. They ended with a fun sparkler exit surrounded by all of their loved ones. The perfect ending to a perfect day!
We are so thrilled to have been a part of Katie and Alex’s rustic glamour wedding. We are never going to forget this beautiful wedding and we hope you all enjoy their gorgeous wedding photos.
